Proved amendments to the "milk" technical regulations of the Russian Federation

The President of the Russian Federation endorsed amendments to the technical regulation for milk and dairy products. The document has been published in a recent issue of "Rossiyskaya Gazeta " and on their website - http://www.rg.ru/.

The first version of the aforesaid bill was approved in 2008, in the field of preparatory phase for Russia in the WTO. Hereby amendments, RF means to modify the "milk" technical regulations according to requests of representatives of milk industry.

From Vladimir Labinova point of view, head of the Russian Dairy Union, processors will have less reason to unduly reduce prices of high quality raw materials.

The aforesaid changes affect the microbiological composition of raw milk products. According to Andrei Danilenko, chairman of the National Union, reduced requirements for the content of so-called "somatic cells" in milk. Simplifying procedures to market farmers and private farms.

The revised document clearly spelled out the rules about child nutrition, especially milk formula. It furthermore enters the necessary terms and concepts to set up your security settings.

To the consumer, the most noticeable change will be the naming of products, depending on proportion of content in milk. For example, ice cream can be called only the product wherein milk is not less than half (50%). Dry cream can be considered only products whereof at least 95% is solid. Moreover, if the percentage of dry milk does not meet the established standard, the product supplier has no right to write even "lactiferous".
